The History Club in St. Clare’s N.S is a group of enthusiastic young historians from 3rd to 6th class, with one representative from each classroom — making a total of eight members. They explore fascinating historical topics through research, discussion and creative projects.

The History Club works closely with Catherine from the local Cavan Museum in Ballyjamesduff. Catherine is extremely passionate about our history and is so generous with her time and knowledge. She even attends some of our club meetings in the school! In June 2025, the History Club took part in a special “Take Over Day” of the museum— becoming the experts themselves! On that day, the club members shared their knowledge with visitors, giving talks on specific historical subjects they had researched and prepared. This is something they hope to continue on a yearly basis going forward.

Through projects and museum collaborations, the History Club aim to bring history to life for our school and community, discovering how the past shapes the world we live in today.
